Congratulations, you made it :)

[color=Red][size=4]So, you’re probably either feeling elated, ambivalent, or disappointed. Perhaps you received the UAI you were after, and you’ve got a good chance of getting into the course of your choice. Maybe you’re so close to last year’s cut offs that you’re not quite sure whether your UAI will be enough. Or maybe you now have to step back, reassess and change your preferences because your results were less than you’d hoped.

Whichever it is, be proud of your achievement: for many ex-year 12 students, the HSC is the biggest hoop they’ve ever had to jump through. Simon and Asako have already written about the many alternative ways to get where you want to go. It’s really good advice. Because it’s an unavoidable fact: sometimes we fail. Sometimes we don’t live up to our own expectations. As long as you’re always growing from your experiences, I don’t think you can really go wrong.

So please, if you’re disappointed: take a look at all your options. Don’t let one little failure (and the "failure" is often largely in your own mind anyway) stop you from getting where you want to go.

Here endeth Cath’s sermon. But seriously, I only say this because I have the benefit of hindsight: your life does not depend on the UAI. So go write down that mark, staple it to a frisbee and throw it over a rainbow. In a month or so nobody is going to care anymore. Then we can all go back to worrying about the serious questions: When is Lindsay Lohan going to start wearing underwear again? Won’t somebody please think of the children![/size][/color]
