请教读EE/TELECOM的前辈们
1. 请问有哪些读得比较吃力的科目?
2. 请问有哪些科目是比较废的, 读来没啥收获的? (除GENERAL EDUCATION)

1. Basically all courses from second year are hard. EE/Tele is one of the hardest degrees at UNSW. Some hard courses: The second year circuit theory courses, third year circuit design courses. Fail rate is extremely high. Why? People who do EE/Tele aren't usually very talented but they have to do some very hard courses. 40% fail rate in some of the courses. Don't do it unless you are confident about yourself.
2. In EE/Tele, this is not a question you should ask. Look at the program description, you'll see most of courses are core courses so you have to do all anyway. There aren't many elective courses you can choose, EE/Tele is not Commerce. Basically all theoretical courses are more or less useless because you usually don't need those concepts for your job.
3. Yes. Very and very busy. You could but not a good idea. Anyway most of the classes are offered in day time so you'll find it tough to organize your timetable. Almost all part-time engineer undergraduate students aren't good at uni. So if you need a lab partner.....
You're expected to do industry experience during holiday, not normal sessions. Use your end-of-year holiday for it.
It's pretty easy to get a job for your industry experience. There is a career website for UNSW students.
If you know someone who has his business, you can just ask him to deposit money to your bank account and you pay him back later. You could show your bank account details to the university, they will approve your industry experience. They don't know whether you have actually worked there or not, but you have to show an income statement.
Australia is growing and pretty easy to get a Telecom job.

IMO Computer Engineering is hardest when I got into UNSW Eng (year 2003), AFSIK only 30% from 1st yr made to 4th yr thesis. All my frds drop out including myself:monkey4 and most of us score higher UAI than average EE/TELE ppl.
I'd also recommend anyone stay away from Engineering, if you cant' take the hard work, eventually you'll drop out and you'll be end up wasting your time.

I agree. I did Computer Engineering, it was n times harder than Commerce. If I had to spend 1 min in Commerce exams, I had to use the whole week for Computer exams. Hard work and no pretty girl......
